1/24/10 - Juan wins back to back Best of Breed under Col. Joe Purkhiser and takes a Group 4 under Mr. Ralph (Sonny) Ambrosio aptly handled by Kenneth Young! Mahalo to Col. Purkhiser and Mr. Ambrosio for acknowledging Juan in the ring! Woohoo!
1/23/10 - Juan wins his first Best of Breed under Judge M. Purkhiser and goes on to win a Group 1 placement under Judge Col. Joe Purkhiser handled by Kenneth Young! What a wonderful way to start the show season! Mahalo to both judges and to Kenneth!
7/03/09 - Seirios Shelties welcomes CH Armitage As You Will home to Hawaii! Will is now acclimating to the weather and his new home. He is almost 16 months old and has completely blown his puppy coat and is getting ready to coat up for the Fall season. He will be shown as a special once he coats up.
6/25/09 - Seirios Shelties introduces CH Armitage Lochend Talladega aka Junie to the Seirios family. Junie is co-owned with Michiro Iwanaga. Mahalo, Beckie and Ellen for another beautiful addition and our foundation bitch!
3/29/09 - Will finishes with all majors and his third Specialty major at the Central Indiana Specialty under Judge Judy Bryant going BOW for his AKC title! Mahalo nui loa to Julie Desy, the Ilemist team, Ellen Ball (Armitage Shelties) and Beckie Bolton (Lochend Shelties) for making all of this possible! Will is now CH Armitage As You Will, assisting to make his sire, CH Ilemist As You Like It, an ROM!
03/22/09 - Will wins Winner’s Dog at the Greater St. Louis Specialty under Judge Jo Virden for a 4-point major and BOS in the Puppy Sweeps under Judge Marilyn Marlow; exclusively handled by the Ilemist Team!
03/01/09 - Will wins Winner’s Dog, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex for a 3-major at the Detroit Kennel Club under Judge Norman Kenney; exclusively handled by the Ilemist Team!
02/28/09 - Juan finishes his AKC conformation title with a 3-point major at the Hawaiian Kennel Club All-Breed show under respected Judge Roger Hartinger going Winners Dog and Best of Opposite; expertly shown to all of his points by handler Craig Garcia. He is now CH Shelgrande’s Juan Heluva Nite!
02/15/09 - Will wins Winner’s Dog for a 4-point Major under Judge Michelle Billings at the Spartanburg Kennel Club Sheltie Specialty in South Carolina under the handling expertise of the Ilemist Team!
01/17/09 - Juan wins BOW at the West Oahu Kennel Club All-Breed Show for 2-points under Judge James R. White!
11/09/08 - Juan wins BOW at the Shetland Sheepdog Club of Hawaii Specialty for a 4-point major under Breeder-Judge Rosemary Petter!
9/28/08 - Juan wins Winners Dog for a 3-point major at the Windward Hawaiian Dog Fancier Association (WHDFA) All-Breed show!
9/27/08 - Harry finishes going BOW for a 4-point major at the WHDFA All-Breed show under Judge Joan Frailey and is now American/Canadian Champion Shelgrande’s Aloha Journey!
10/02/11 - FLASH! At the second show weekend of the season for the boys, Juan is awarded Select Dog for a 5-pt major toward his grand champion title at the Windward Hawaiian Dog Fancier’s Association all-breed show under Judge Vincent Grosso and handled by Jay Warner!
9/04/11 - After a 6-month hiatus from competition for both boys, Juan is awarded Select Dog for a 3-pt major toward his grand champion title at the Hawaii Kennel Club all-breed show under Judge Fred C. Bassett by his favourite handler, Kenneth Young!
4/09/11 - Juan congratulates his son, new Can CH Condura’s Rock the Nite Away or “Rocky” on finishing his Canadian title in style taking BOW and Best Puppy for 5-pts to finish at nearly 10 months of age! Rocky is Juan’s first champion! Mahalo to Juan’s breeder, Corinne Rainsforth of Shelgrande for her excellent handling of Rocky to his title!
3/06/11 - Will is awarded Select Dog by Judge James E. Noe for his second major towards his grand champion title winning over four male specials handled by Jan Ibaraki!
3/05/11 - Juan is awarded Select Dog by Judge Jacqueline Stacy at the Hawaii Kennel Club all-breed show for a 3-pt. major winning over four male specials handled by Kenneth Young!
1/16/2011 - Juan is recognized and awarded #4 Sheltie and #10 Herding dog for 2010 in just three days of showing in Hawaii during 2010. Many thanks to Kenneth Young who took Juan to a Group 1 and a Group 4 and to Corinne Rainsforth for his Select Dog award at the November SSC of Hawaii specialty!
11/07/10 - At his first show back in the USA, Juan (AM/CAN CH Shelgrande Juan Heluva Nite) is awarded the Grand CH Select Dog and Award of Merit at the Shetland Sheepdog Club of Hawaii’s 72nd Specialty under Judge Denise Cornelssen of Miqelon Shelties! Many, many thanks to his breeder / handler, Corinne Rainsforth for showing Juan to his best advantage at the Specialty! What a fabulous team!!!
10/03/10 - After missing the Spring & most of the Fall Show season this year due to a shaved leg from OFA testing and a bit of a chewed coat, Will (CH Armitage As You Will) takes a 5-point Major towards his Grand Championship title going Best of Opposite Sex on his first weekend out at the Windward Hawaiian Dog Fancier Association All-Breed Dog Show last weekend under Judge Harry Smith. Mahalo to Kenneth Young for handling Will to his first Grand CH points!
7/11/10 - We have puppies! Reba (Lochend’s Li’l Whiskey Girl) had a litter of seven puppies out of Will (CH Armitage As You Will); five males and two females. We are very excited with this new litter and look forward to finishing our “hopeful” page with one or two of these pups.
4/30, 5/01 & 5/02/10 - Juan takes Winner’s Dog all three days at the Hub City Kennel and Obedience Club All Breed Show to finish his Canadian title thanks to the great handling and presentation by Corinne Rainsforth of Shelgrande Shelties. Juan is now American / Canadian CH Shelgrande’s Juan Heluva Nite finishing in two weekends! Mahalo ka kou, Corinne! Many thanks to the judges who awarded Juan his wins: 4/30/10 - Judge Frederick Dewbury, 5/01/10 - Judge Fred Gordon, and 5/02/10 - Judge David Eadie.
5/01/10 - Seirios Shelties welcomes Lochend’s Li’l Whiskey Girl (Reba) to Hawaii! Mahalo to Beckie Bolton of Lochend Shelties for sharing this beautiful girl with me! Reba is out of CH Sea Haven Squeeze Play x CH Armitage Lochend Talladega (Junie). We look forward to campaigning her to her American title!
3/28/10 - Junie takes an Award of Merit at the SSCH March Specialty with co-owner Michiro Iwanaga under Breeder-Judge Janet Fink .
3/27/10 & 3/29/10 - Juan wins WD on Saturday under Judge S. Alexander and BOW/WD on Monday under Judge M. White at the B.C. Canadian Renaissance All Breed Dog Show for a total of five points toward his Canadian title shown by Corinne Rainsforth of Shelgrande Shelties! Mahalo, Corinne!
It’s been about a year since we campaigned our dogs after finishing them in February and March of 2009. We started 2010 in a wonderful way. The first show in 2010 was the West Oahu Kennel Club All Breed show. Juan took BOB on both weekend days! Mahalo to Kenneth Young who handled little Juan to Group 1 and Group 4 placements on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, Judges M. Purkhiser, Col. J. Purkhiser, and R. Ambrosio for the wonderful wins. Mahalo to all of our friends and well-wishers! We sure appreciate your support!
